My graduate studies in the Department of Microbiology at Southern Illinois University took me on a journey to McMurdo Station Antarctica with Mike Madigan, Laurie Achenbach, and Matthew Sattley. Our scientific studies were carried out at Lake Fryxell in the Dry Valleys. I still regularly give talks to elementary school kids about my journey. These are some of my pictures from the adventure of a lifetime. Enjoy!-LK
