This course will allow students to develop in-depth knowledge of infectious diseases utilizing an inquiry-based format. Case studies will be presented and discussed in the context of patient symptoms as well as molecular and culture-based test results. Case studies from standard textbooks and clinical microbiology journals will be utilized. Students will gain experience in identifying causative agents of numerous infections. An ideal course for pre-dental, medical, and pharmacy students.
Prerequisite: MBIO 3813, MBIO 4823 (concurrent enrollment ok) and instructor permission.
